Tonight’s Appearance at Shuck Station Cancelled

Due to the dismal weather forecast for late this afternoon (Thursday, May 14), we must CANCEL today’s gig at the Shuck Station. It is an outdoor venue and there is no way to protect the sound equipment and instruments from rain.

The good news is that the Bristol Boys expect to have another date at the Shuck Station later this summer. More information on that later.

Bristol Boys Performing at the Shuck Station

The Bristol Boys will be performing at Shuck Station (68 Main St, Newcastle) this comingThursday, May 14th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The Bristol Boys – Michael Alston, John Scofield, Dan Townsend, and Tom Welch – offer a rich Americana repertoire of folk, blues, bluegrass, soft rock and country, played mainly on acoustic instruments, with some great harmonies and pretty good picking. We cover tunes by the likes of Bob Dylan, John Prine, Jimmy Buffett, The Eagles, Gram Parsons, Guy Clark, Matraca Berg, and Townes Van Zandt, among others. We are especially proud to play original songs penned by our own Tom Welch, many of which focus on the beauty and richness of Maine’s rivers, Northwoods and maritime tradition.

We hope you’ll come out to sample Shuck Station‘s superb oyster selection and to hear some great music this coming Thursday evening.

The Bristol Boys play tomorrow (March 14) in Waldoboro

This coming Saturday, March 14, the Bristol Boys will be performing at Cider Hill Farm in Waldoboro, ME, from 4 – 6 PM.

Join us if you can for some good music and some hearty refreshments. The address of Cider Hill Farm is 785 Main St, Waldoboro, ME 04572.

Bristol Boys have two upcoming engagements

The Bristol Boys have two gigs the weekend of February 27. Friday, Feb. 27, 4:30-6:30 PM, they will be performing at the Sheepscott General Store in Whitefield. Saturday, Feb. 28, 4-6 PM, they will be at Cider Hill Farm in Waldoboro.

The Sheepscott General Store makes great pizza that is available for purchase. Cider Hill Farm is known for its fine brews and popcorn!

One of the band members (Michael) is not available for these gigs as he deals with frozen pipes in Virginia.

Mark your calendar!

Bristol Boys to perform at Tin Top Cider this Saturday

The Bristol Boys Band will play at Tin Top Cider Co this Saturday, Sept 13, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.

We’ll be on the porch playing our great mix of folk, bluegrass and soft country, including tunes by our own Tom Welch that celebrate Maine’s rivers, northwoods and maritime tradition. Some pretty good pickin’ and great harmonies.

Tin Top’s great cider, first-rate comfort food by Panacea Maine and some great tunes from the Bristol Boys. What better way to spend a late summer afternoon.

Hope we’ll see you there!

Bristol Boys play Saturday at Oxbow Brewery

The Bristol Boys will play at Oxbow Brewing Co on Sat, Sept 6, starting at 5:00 pm.

If the weather is good (looks that way now), we’ll be out on the deck.  If the weather skunks, we’ll move inside.

Either way, we’ll be playing our great mix of folk, bluegrass and soft country, including tunes by our own Tom Welch that celebrate Maine’s rivers, northwoods and maritime tradition. Some pretty good pickin’ and great harmonies.

Great Oxbow brews and the Banyan Tree food truck on site with its wonderful Indian fare.

Hope we see you there!

Today’s (8/27) performance at Ports of Italy cancelled

Thunderstorms are predicted for Rockport this evening during the scheduled performance of the Bristol Boys at Ports of Italy. While Ports of Italy has indoor dining — the band necessarily has to perform outside on the patio, and this does not mix with water.

So, tonight’s performance is cancelled.

If we are able to re-schedule we will post the new date on our web site.

The Bristol Boys return to Ports of Italy

The Bristol Boys will be performing on the patio this coming Wednesday, August 27, 5 – 7 PM, at the Ports of Italy in Rockport, ME. Note that this is an hour earlier than our performance there earlier this month.

Ports of Italy, located at 141 Commercial Street in Rockport, is a full-service Italian restaurant with a great reputation for fine food. Come join us for a fun evening of music and dining.
