The announcement below is taken from the May 8 issue of the Lincoln County News.
“The Bristol Boys will return to Bremen Union Church from 6-8 PM on Saturday, May 10. The performance will include an intermission for brownies and ice cream.
The band, consisting of Michael Alston, John Scofield, Dan Townsend, and Tom Welch, offers a mainly folk, bluegrass, and country repertoire played on a diversity of mostly acoustic instruments. They provide good picking and nice vocal harmonies, as well as some original songs that focus on the beauty and richness of Maine’s rivers, north woods, and maritime tradition.
Using a variety of string instruments including guitars, mandolin, bass guitar, fiddle, dobro, lap steel and pedal steel guitar, and drums, the Bristol Boys share a love of songs written by the likes of Bob Dylan, John Prine, Jimmy Buffett, Gordon Lightfoot, Dan Fogelberg, Guy Clark, Nancy Griffith, and a host of other North American songwriters.
